My solo show “Yes, No, Maybe So” has a TON of tech (audio! video! projections!). I’m getting ready to perform it at Hi-Desert Fringe on May 14, 2022 at 8:15pm with NO TECH except for what I provide myself. How will this impact the show? Will my characters still be clear? Will people be able to hear my voice over the acoustic instruments I’ll be using to make up for the loss of video? (HINT: they are all percussion instruments…).
This is why I love Hi-Desert Fringe…”theatre on the edge” is what the original Edinburgh Fringe Festival was all about! And how appropriate that the Coachella Valley Weekly published the most thorough article that I have ever read about that O.G. Fringe festival in Scotland. I will be performing in the spirit of those original Fringe pioneers in about a week…except with an iPhone and a Bluetooth speaker.
