Here is the transcription of my most recent video blog:
(And here’s the audio on AnchorFM)
Hey everybody, it’s Queen Mab, and I just wanted to give you a little update about my editing process for my solo show, “Yes, No, Maybe So.” [Come see it for FREE, in person at the Santa Monica Playhouse or streaming from anywhere, on 10/19 at 7:30pm Pacific!]
So I made some cuts, and on Friday I made a little recording of it on my phone, and it was at about an hour and four minutes. So I was a little bummed, because I think that means that on stage, it’s probably gonna be more at, like…seventy minutes. So I made a bunch of cuts, and I worked really hard, and then I tried it again this morning, and it was an hour and three minutes. AUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
So then I made a bunch more cuts, and I was gonna do another recording so I could see where I’m at time-wise, but my voice is a little raw – I don’t know if you can tell – from my run this morning. So I’m gonna wait and do that tomorrow, but the thing is – as I already explained to you in my last post – I’ve got my neurodiverse brain going on, and so I know I need to start memorizing the new bits NOW. So in other words, I think I’m realizing that I have to call it. Like I just have to say, “What I have right now is what it’s gonna be for Binge Fringe.” And that’s kind of scary for me, because I wanna be perfect! But that’s just not gonna happen, so…
Anyway, this is me saying this to you so that I will hold myself accountable and not keep trying to be a perfectionist. Anyway…thanks for your support, and that’s all I have for you today. Don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and if you want to see more of my comment [I think I meant “content”], you can go to queenmabmusic.com, and you can follow me on all the social medias @queenmabmusic…except Twitter – I’m @queenmabmusic1. (Raspberry sound) Anyway…see you next time.
