Check out my student, Tori Constantine, performing her own arrangement of the theme from “Howl’s Moving Castle” for solo marimba and orchestra:
I teach private percussion lessons at my studio in Northern San Diego. I work best with students who are enrolled in their school music program, participate in an extracurricular musical ensemble, or perform in the recitals I organize periodically. Instruments I teach include drum set (all styles), snare drum (concert and marching), keyboard percussion instruments (marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, bells), timpani, and auxiliary percussion (cymbals, triangle, tambourine). I can also teach basic technique on congas, pandeiro, and Brazilian samba percussion.
I’ve helped students arrange their own concertos, achieve leadership positions in prominent local music programs, and participate in honor bands like All State and All Southern. I also love working with adult students, who I’ve supported with rocking out on drum set in garage bands, playing Brazilian percussion instruments in a local samba band, and jamming on jazz vibraphone.
Private lessons are all about YOUR GOALS. Send me a message, and let’s find out if I can help you achieve them!
