Here is the transcription of my most recent video blog:

(And here’s the audio on AnchorFM)

Hey everybody, it’s Queen Mab, and this is the eve of my solo show. I am going to be performing it tomorrow night at 7:30pm Pacific at the Santa Monica Playhouse in Santa Monica. So, if you live in the LA area, you can come in person. If you’re outside the LA area, you can stream it, and it is FREE! And I will post a ticket link below.

So I am posting twice in one day because on Wednesday, I am going to take a break, because I can tell you that after driving to LA tomorrow – and back – and then working on Wednesday, I am not gonna be in the mood to make a nice, happy little video, okay? So I’m gonna do it NOW while I still have the spoons.

Also, I wanted to give you an idea of what kinds of preparations I need to do tonight, just in case you’re a solo artist yourself, and you’d like to know about the process. So I need to edit a sound clip, which I probably should have done a really long time ago. I need to run the show. I need to mark my way through it – so marking means, like, not doing it full out. I’m especially concerned about the cuts that I’ve made and remembering those changes. And I have to be honest with you – I’ve had a very hard time getting myself to concentrate on anything memorization or rehearsal related. And I honestly think that is because I have been spending so much time trying to make sure that children do not throw things at each other, or dismember each other, or leave chewing gum on a stage, or break things…it’s just…I’m so tired.

And part of the point of this vlog is to be open about, like, where I’m really at, and what this process really looks like, so…observe. Okay? This is what it looks like to be a solo artist and a teacher and really tired.

The other thing I want to tell you about is that tomorrow I will be rehearsing…(rehearsing)…releasing! an interview that I did with a friend of mine named Anne Slovin. Anne is a soprano and a musicologist, and she’s one of my big social media role models, so I’m really excited to post this interview. So if you’ve already seen “Yes, No, Maybe So,” and you’re looking for another interesting thing to watch, please tune in and check out my interview with Anne, because she is super cool.

So I think that’s all I have for you today. You can visit queenmabmusic.com for more of my content AND to buy your ticket if you’re going to come see the show tomorrow night. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe, and I will see you next time. Bye!

Tomorrow: My Solo Show and a New Interview!
